NDUGA - The Infantry Battalion Task Force Para Raider 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, under the HABEMA Operational Command, made a heartwarming impact on the residents of Krepkuri Village, Nduga Regency, Papua Highlands Province, through their “Rosita” program on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
The Rosita program, an initiative that involves purchasing agricultural products directly from local farmers, was warmly welcomed by the community. This activity reflects not only the soldiers’ commitment to safeguarding the RI-PNG border but also their genuine concern for improving the well-being of the people in Papua.
Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Gurbasa Samosir, Commander of Satgas Yonif 503 Kostrad, emphasized that supporting local communities is an integral part of their mission. “While we focus on securing the region, it is equally important for us to assist and empower the communities here. The Rosita program is our way of supporting local farmers while fostering harmony and trust, ” he stated.
The program turned into a festive occasion as soldiers interacted directly with the farmers, purchasing crops in bulk. This gesture not only provided financial relief to the farmers but also strengthened the bonds between the TNI and the local community.
One of the residents, Mama Marta Tabuni, expressed her gratitude with a smile as her produce was bought up. “Commander 503, thank you for buying all my crops. God bless you, ” she said joyfully, capturing the emotional connection built during the event.
Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, Commander of HABEMA, applauded the program’s success, stating, “The initiative of Satgas Yonif 503 Kostrad is a reflection of the TNI’s care and dedication to supporting economic growth in Papua. These efforts are crucial for accelerating development and building trust with the community.”
The Rosita program is not just an economic activity—it’s a symbol of the TNI’s responsive and caring approach to serving the people of Papua. By empowering local farmers and creating moments of joy, Satgas Yonif 503 Kostrad continues to prove that security and community welfare can go hand in hand.
As the residents of Krepkuri celebrated the support from the TNI, the bonds of trust and harmony grew stronger, paving the way for a brighter, more connected future for Papua.
